Just like any other industry, it requires professionalism, dedication, and a strong work ethic to succeed. The “honeymoon period” of excitement and performing with popular porn models will fade quickly, so treating it as a serious venture from the outset is essential.
One of the most vital aspects of a male performer’s journey is to understand their role and responsibilities. Respect for female performers is paramount, if you’re in anyway misogynistic, pushy, looking for a girlfriend or coming into the business with the mind set of ‘rescuing’ the female performers, then stop right now, enjoy your wank and move on! In most part you need to remember that male performers are there to complement and support their female counterparts, making them look good on screen. Just be honest with everyone, you’ll find there will still be a place for you if your honest about your limitations.
If your intending on hiding your identity, then your opportunities are limited. The adult entertainment industry is stigmatised by everyone, you’ll be judged, talked about and outed by friends, even your close loved ones may not be supportive of your decision. Therefore, before entering the industry, it’s crucial to have open and honest conversations with the people that matter to you, about the decision and the potential consequences this career choice can have on your family and your own future career opportunities.
Finally, building a brand and reputation is essential for success in this industry. Networking, marketing, and maintaining professionalism are all crucial aspects of a performer’s career. Understanding the business side of adult entertainment and making wise decisions on your niche area of performance, distribution platforms and the costs involved in becoming a performer, is equally important for long-term success.
If you’re still reading this and I’ve not scared you off, its time to get yourself ‘tested’. Before contacting anyone in the business, you will need to get yourself a full ‘clean’ sexual health certificate. Not all local clinics offer this service but organisations like SNAP have a list of clinics that can help. You will need a clean ‘cert’ every 28 days (every 14 days for certain production companies and countries) and some performers wont consider working with you until you have at least three months consecutive clean tests.

Augmented Reality: A Sensual Revolution in the Adult Entertainment Industry
In the not-so-distant past, holograms were the stuff of science fiction, something we only saw in movies like Star Wars or Minority Report. But today, thanks to advancements in augmented reality (AR) technology, we are on the brink of turning our homes into holographic wonderlands.
Imagine walking into your living room and suddenly seeing a lifelike 3D representation of your favorite musician performing their greatest hits right there in your own home. Or for the more smutty minded ones amongst us. What is Augmented Reality?
Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology usually used in a VR headset, that superimposes digital content onto the physical world, allowing users to interact with computer-generated elements while still perceiving their surroundings. Unlike Virtual Reality (VR), which immerses users in a completely virtual environment, AR enhances the real world by adding virtual objects, information, or experiences.
The Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 are primarily VR headsets, but they do have a passthrough function that allows them to simulate AR-like experiences by using their front-facing cameras to display the real world.
The Oculus Quest 2 features four black-and-white cameras on the front of the headset. These cameras capture the real-world environment in greyscale. Whilst many of us have been testing and trying AR porn with the quest 2, the results have been less than ‘usable’, if you know what I mean ;)!
With the launch of the new Meta Quest 3 we now have access to the full-colour front-facing cameras. This upgrade from greyscale to full-colour cameras is a massive leap and provides several benefits:
- Realism: The full-colour cameras offer a more natural and realistic representation of your surroundings, as you can perceive colours, textures, and details.
- Enhanced AR: With full-colour cameras, the passthrough function on the Meta Quest 3 can provide a more convincing AR experience by accurately overlaying digital content in their true colours onto the real world.
- Improved Immersion: The increased realism of the passthrough view can make transitions between VR and the real world feel smoother and more natural.
In the future we’re hoping that this increased interactivity will provide a more engaging experience and opens up the opportunities for more personalization and customization. Users will be able to select their preferred models, scenes, and scenarios, tailoring the content to their desires.
From the emails I have received from customers, I’m aware of how the virtual reality content we make at Peeping Thom has already made porn accessible to a wider audience, including individuals with disabilities. With the new technologies we can now provide features like subtitles or audio descriptions to ensure inclusivity.
Augmented Reality has found its place in the adult entertainment industry, offering a new dimension of interactivity, personalization, and privacy. I’m back with another review of Peeping Thom May VR releases, and we have some VERY exciting ones this month including a couple of new performers and some old friends back for another shoot.

April has arrived and whilst I ponder on whether to post an April fools prank on Twitter, I thought I should really write this blog post to update you on the April VR Releases.

Themed Content Share Events
After six months of avoiding doing any content share events, I’ve decided to get back on the bandwagon and start my Monthly shoots again.
I’ll be doing the shoots in conjunction with our friends at Roxy’s Den in Walsall, as they have the space and central location that is ideal for these themed events. I had moved away from content share shoots about six months ago due to constant cancellations from performers and the growing costs of appropriate location hire so enhance the VR scenes.
Moving forward, I’d like to try and arrange these shoots with trusted, hardworking performers that want to make quality content and build their network within the community. The whole concept will be based around themed content. For too long now the content share shoots have been the same old type of scenes with little or no thought or creativity being put into them.
Taking from my extensive experience of working on content shoots in the past, along with what I’ve learnt from the fantastic performers who attended them. I’d like to put these skills into something that emphasises the fun and creative side of the adult business, inviting performers that really want to make an effort and achieve some stunning, fresh content that stands out from the rest.
The first shoot will be based around the Moulin Rouge theme and then moving forward I have a number of different ideas that will hopefully appeal to a wide, diverse range of performers. I’d also like to include a number of events for alternative performers including curvy girl events and days for mature models.
Anyone that’s worked with me before will know the importance I put on inclusivity and this is something that will continue through these themes events.
